COCA KNOWLEDGE

Coca carries the botanical name [Erythroxylum coca] and originates from the Andean regions of South America. The plant has been cultivated there for thousands of years and is deeply rooted in the traditional cultures of South America. Its leaves naturally contain various plant compounds and have therefore been used in different ways across generations. Coca is an evergreen shrub that can grow up to around 2.4 metres tall. Its oval, smooth leaves are often recognised by two fine curved lines running alongside the leaf's central vein. The plant produces small yellowish white flowers followed by red berries.
